more pictures of some of our Scottsdale Strummers, I will keep adding
as we go on. Click Pictures on left.
I want to refresh my comments that this group is open to
new ukulele players and I think I have a pretty good program to get people
up and running as a ukulele player. there is no charge for joining us, and I
think I can guaranty that you will learn to play the ukulele. I'm not saying
how well, but you will have some success if you make a modest effort.

Ten Ukulele players
today. We had a short meeting because we went down to hear Ralph and Nancy
play for the cafeteria crowd on their 50th wedding anniversary. This will be
our last meeting until September 24th.
We will meet for the
Monday night Kanikapila on the 20th of September at 6 pm. Also, check out
the Phoenix ukulele group at:
http://www.meetup.com/The-Phoenix-Ukulele-Meetup-Group/.
They are having a quest
performer on the 23rd I believe. You can join the Phoenix Ukulele Group, as
well as the Scottsdale Strummers at meetup.com. Thank you all for coming
out, and we will see you next month.

Eight Ukers showed
up.
Started Work on our
"Ukulele Big Band", a ukulele ensemble. It is going to be slow, because I am
not an accomplished musician, but I think it will be a lot of fun. I hope to
spend some time each week on the ensemble.

We had a lively
meeting Last Friday with a dozen uke players. Played some folk music, some
ragtime, and some songs brought in by players.
July 9,2010
The summer is upon
us. Only 4 ukulele players. We had 5, but one just came in to say he was
still interested, but had a previous engagement. We played music from the
Strummer song book I, and talked about things related to ukulele.
I told again about
gochords.com and what a great site it is. Show in cafeteria next week.
I have set up
archives for "Scottsdale Strummers" section. You can find it on navigational
structure. See 2nd Qtr 2010.
The Scottsdale
Strummers meet on Fridays from 10:00 to 12:00 noon at the Scottsdale Granite
Reef Senior Center, 1700 North Granite Reef Road (off McDowell Road between
Route 101 and Hayden Road).
Everyone is
welcome and there is NO CHARGE to join. or new and non-players we are
singer, foot taper, and spouse friendly.
We share songs and
discuss ukuleles in a casual atmosphere. We also plan and practice for
future shows.
