I am the organizer of the
Scottsdale Strummers, but I am happy
 to
say that When I am not there the group is self strumming.
I started playing the ukulele
in 1951 while in the Navy. I bought a baritone uke, which I still have, to
amuse myself while sitting on a 150 ft. minesweeper floating around the
Atlantic Ocean. I have never gotten very good at it although I am told I
have a nice strum.
Still I really enjoy playing
it, and after a trip to Hawaii in Feb of 2006, my interest was
rekindled. My goal now is to expose everyone to the Uke.
